The menABLE project is looking for young people (15-18 years old) and professionals from across Europe interested in tackling gender-based violence issues to join the EU hackathon in Aarhus, Denmark on 25 September 2024

The menABLE EU hackathon aims to bring together young people and professionals from across Europe to get their opinions and firsthand experience on the menABLE educational material. The young people and educators/teachers will be encouraged to develop their own dilemmas regarding gender-based violence online in order to further improve the menABLE Toolbox – an interactive game with dilemmas quizzes and challenges to disscuss online gbv. 

As a young person…
join the event to:
  • make your voice heard
  • share your insights to help other young people open up for discussions on gender-based violence online?
  • get a fully paid trip to Denmark together with other young people and professionals?

You can be the young people voice in how to deal with dilemmas of gender-based violence online and we want to hear your perspectives on the matter! 

As an educator…
join the event to:
  • broaden your understanding of gender-based violence (GBV) online addressing dilemmas on GBV online that will help you support and guide your student
  • work alongside young people to tackle this important societal issue

Join us in a collaborative effort! As a teacher/educator, your participation is crucial in shaping the discourse and finding solutions! 

Please, note that this is a call for interest and filling in the form does not automatically guarantee participation in the event.
Also note that if you are successfully selected, costs involved will be covered by the organiser.

In addition to young people and educators the EU hackathon will benefit from the insights from experts in the field of gender-based violence.

Gergana Tzvetkova | Research fellow, MSCA COFUND Global@Venice, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice

Gergana Tzvetkova is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Fellow at Ca’ Foscari University, where she leads the research project Stereotyping, Disinformation, and Politicization: Links between Attacks Against the Istanbul Convention and Increased Online Gender-Based Violence (RESIST). With over a decade of experience in research and project management, her work focuses on human rights, gender, digital rights, transitional justice, and countering violence against women and disinformation. Gergana is a Secretary-at-Large of the global Society of Gender Professionals and holds a PhD in Politics, Human Rights, and Sustainability from Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies.


Matteo Botto l Sociology doctoral scholar, University of Genoa

Matteo is a Sociology doctoral scholar at the University of Genoa and a visiting doctoral scholar at Stockholm University. He conducts research on gender and online culture, with a particular focus on masculinity, radicalization and embodiment within the manosphere.
